For more than a decade, the Women’s Diagnostic Center in Munster has had a consistent partner in its commitment to fighting breast cancer and keeping women healthy.
Since 2011, Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning Inc. has donated money for the Women’s Diagnostic Center during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The company’s 2022 contribution puts its total donation amount to nearly $50,000. The money, which is donated from a portion of install and service calls, goes toward helping local women receive diagnostic imaging at the Women’s Diagnostic Center.
Illiana Heating & Air Conditioning owners Kevin Frump and Dan Krygsheld recently presented a check for $4,750 to Mary Nicholson, MD, medical director of Community Hospital Women’s Diagnostic Center in Munster and regional director of Breast Imaging Services for Community Healthcare System.
Breast cancer is a disease that can be diagnosed early through routine mammography. The Women’s Diagnostic Centers of Community Healthcare System offer 3D mammography with same-day results. With technological advances and coordination between local physicians, women can generally begin treatment for breast cancer within days after diagnosis.
“Illiana’s commitment to supportthe Women’s Diagnostic Center every year without fail — even through the COVID-19 pandemic — is something to behold,” Nicholson said. “We are extremely grateful to them because these annual donations mean more early detections, which means more lives can be saved.”
