'Tis the season of giving - and today Ideas in Motion Media was able to give back.
While driving down Calumet Avenue this morning, Ideas in Motion Media Publisher Chris Mahlmann took a picture of the sign outside of Housing Opportunities, and posted it to the ValpoLife Facebook page. I felt particularly moved after seeing the picture he posted, and I knew that we had to do something to help.
Our office chipped in to donate money, and Shawn Barnes and I went grocery shopping for the Housing Opportunities Food Pantry. It was great knowing that we're helping to make a difference for several families, and the ladies at Housing Opportunities were very thankful for our contribution.
"We serve approximately 1,600 people every month, and this food will allow people to be able to eat. We appreciate it very much, and our clients thank you" offered Kathleen McClure, Fund Developer at Housing Opportunities.
ValpoLife has given me the opportunity to do many things, but being able to give back to the community through Housing Opportunities has been the most rewarding thing I've done while working here. It is so easy to get caught up in our own lives, but I urge everyone to do something this holiday season to give back. There are few things more rewarding than making a difference in someone else's life.
