Hebron Schools receive NIPSCO grant for CPR/AED and stop the bleed training

Hebron Schools recently received a grant from NIPSCO for an AED Trainer to assist with staff training. This school year, a new safety training program was initiated through the school corporation’s nurse.

The training program provides all staff the opportunity to receive CPR, AED training (automated external defibrillator) and Stop the Bleed training. Stop the Bleed is a program that trains individuals how to stop serve life threatening bleeding on an individual.

The new AED trainer will provide staff members the opportunity to train on an actual AED device. This will better prepare staff members if an actual AED is ever needed. Currently all three schools are equipped with an AED.

The goal is to eventually have all staff members trained on the use of an AED, CPR trained and Stop the Bleed trained. The MSD of Boone Twp School Corporation (Hebron Schools) would like to thank NIPSCO and the NiSource Charitable Foundation for this generous grant.
