Gus Bock’s Ace Hardware round-up program benefits cancer resource centre in Munster

Gus Bock’s Ace Hardware is a local business built on family values and the tradition of taking care of their own. During the week of October 26 through November 1, 2020, Gus Bock’s Dyer, Lansing and Munster stores teamed up to raise $1,633.79 in funding for the Cancer Resource Centre in Munster.

“Our annual community fundraiser is just one way we can reach out and help to take care of friends and family and benefit a great cause at the same time,” said Adam White, manager, Gus Bock’s Munster.

The Cancer Resource Centre is a program of the Community Cancer Research Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of cancer care available in Northwest Indiana and the south Chicago suburbs. Since first opening its doors in 2003, the Cancer Resource Centre has offered all of its services free of charge to all who enter. The Centre is funded from generous donations and grants, in-kind contributions and volunteer support.

“For the past 17 years, the Centre has been able to touch the lives of more than 54,336  patients and families, offering a non-medical setting where they come to celebrate life, deal with hardships and find answers to their questions,” said Anthony Andello, manager, Outreach, Cancer Resource Centre. “Cancer doesn’t take a break during the pandemic and the need for support is as crucial as before. While our programs and classes have been put on pause for the time being, thanks to our good neighbors – Dyer, Lansing and Munster Gus Bock’s Ace Hardware stores – many more patients will be able to seek comfort, solace and a new path on their road to recovery when we resume our regular programming.”

The Cancer Resource Centre is located at 926 Ridge Road in Munster. For more information, visit our website at www.cancerresourcecentre.com or call 219-836-3349
