Coverage Recap

Softball: Lake Central vs. Munster

Lake Central traveled to Munster and took down the Mustangs by a score of 3-1. MaKayla Van Vossen had a key knock and went one for three with two RBIs. Freshman Maddie Such took the mound and went five innings pitched with seven strikeouts and one earned run. Senior Kylie Madura tallied Munster’s only run with a solo home run.

Region Sports Update

Congratulations to Dylan Salisbury of La Porte High School for signing to continue his athletic and academic career at Carthage College!

Jesse Mendez, former Crown Point High School Bulldog, is the 141 pound National Champion with Ohio State University Wrestling. Everyone in the Region is very proud! 

There has been a huge change next season in the realm of high school Girls Basketball as longtime Valparaiso High School Vikings Coach Candy Wilson has left Valparaiso and has joined Chesterton High School for the 2024-25 season!

Tuesday, March 26

The Crown Point Bulldogs kick off the Boys Baseball season as they host the Hanover Central High School Wildcats in a non-conference game. 

The Merrillville High School Pirates open up their Girls Softball season against the Griffith Panthers in a non-conference game.  

The La Porte High School Slicers begin their baseball season facing the Penn High School Kingsmen in a non-conference game. 

Friday, March 29

The Wheeler High School Bearcats kick off the softball season with a home conference game against the Andrean High School Fighting 59ers.
