Golf United at United Way of Porter County’s 2nd Annual Golf Classic

united-way-pc-golf-2012United Way of Porter County invites golfers to their 2nd Annual Golf Classic, presented by Kramer & Leonard Office Products, on Monday, May 21, 2012, at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton. In just its second year, this premier event has grown to using all three 9’s of Sand Creek’s pristine course to accommodate the number of golfers expected this year. Last year’s event netted over $34,000.

“Because the Golf Classic is a county-wide event benefiting United Way’s funded programs at 37 partner agencies, it is a big draw for those who enjoy golfing, as well as, for those sponsoring companies who want to extend their reach throughout Porter County,” stated Greg Fox, owner of Kramer & Leonard. “As a current United Way Board Member, I am grateful to my fellow Board Members who are taking a lead by serving as a Gold Sponsor, alongside U.S. Steel.”

Golf Classic festivities begin with an Italian Mixed Grill lunch and registration at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Shotgun Scramble start at 12:00 noon. During the lunch, and while on the course, golfers will enjoy complimentary soft drinks, bottled water, and beer. After golf, participants will return to the clubhouse for a carved BBQ buffet and awards ceremony. A silent auction has been added this year, featuring signed sports memorabilia, White Sox tickets, and more. There will also be awesome door prizes valued at $100 or more. Hole-in-One prizes include a new automobile offered by Kennedy Mazda and $10,000 cash sponsored by Centier Bank.

Sponsorships from $200-$5,000 are available. Some print deadlines are May 1st, so interested parties should act quickly. Individual golfer registration is $200.

Current top level sponsors include the following: (Premier) Kramer & Leonard; (Gold) US Steel and United Way Board of Directors; (Silver) Chase Bank, Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Chesterton, Horizon Bank, NIPSCO, Pathology Consultants, and Teachers Credit Union.
