Lucky Ticket Holder to Win $10,000
One lucky raffle ticket holder will walk away with $10,000 in solid gold bars at a live drawing Friday, Nov. 15 during “New York, New York,” the United Way of LaPorte County’s annual gala celebration at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City.
A little more than a week remains to purchase raffle tickets online at www.unitedwaylpc.org or in the Blue Chip Casino main lobby. Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. Dave Sisk, community investment manager for United Way, said the odds of winning are fairly good because only 2,500 tickets are being sold.
“People have been really excited about the possibility of winning real gold bars,” Sisk said. ”And everyone who purchases raffle tickets is a winner because they’re helping improve the quality of life for people in our community.”
Raffle ticket holders don’t have to be present at “New York, New York” to win. The gala event will feature live Broadway- style entertainment, gourmet food from area restaurants, an open bar, and the opportunity to bid on unique items in both silent and live auctions. Tickets for this upscale event are $75 per person – a bargain compared to the cost of an actual evening in New York City, Sisk noted.
“The annual gala has proven to be the highlight of our United Way annual events calendar,” he said. “People tell us they look forward to this special evening all year.”
