GLIAC Baseball Tournament starts Thursday at U.S. Steel Yard

The South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority and the Gary SouthShore RailCats are pleased to welcome the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Post-Season Baseball Tournament to the U.S. Steel Yard starting Thursday, May 12 thru Sunday, May 15.

The top six teams will compete in the tournament and one will be crowned Conference Champion. The champion will receive an automatic spot in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament.

The top six teams currently in the GLIAC standings are Davenport, Wayne State, Northwood, Grand Valley State, Saginaw Valley State and Purdue Northwest. 

Schedule for Thursday, May 12 is as follows (all games are central time):
11 a.m. #2 Wayne State vs. #5 Saginaw Valley State
3 p.m. #1 Davenport vs. #6 Purdue Northwest
7 p.m. #3 Northwood vs. #4 Grand Valley State

This is a double elimination tournament and games will continue at U.S. Steel Yard on Friday, May 13 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday game times are 10 a.m.,  2 p.m. and 7 p.m.  with the first two games being played at Dowling Park (Hammond, IN) and the 7 p.m. game will be back at the U.S. Steel Yard. Championship Sunday begins at 11:30 a.m. at U.S. Steel Yard. 

The tournament will run Thursday thru Sunday and tickets are on sale now. All tickets are $10 per day and available online here or at the door.
