Games, Prizes at Chesterton’s European Market Opening on May 5

chesterton-european-marketAfter a winter hiatus, Chesterton’s European Market be reopening on Saturday, May 5, 2012. The Market, which is open from 8am-2pm each Saturday from May through October, offers Duneland area residents the opportunity to purchase fresh produce, as well as boutique products from local artisans, chefs and merchants.

In addition to al fresco shopping and dining, visitors to the Market will be able to participate in Market Bingo and a “Cinco de Mayo Name That Veggie” contest at noon. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to participate in the latter contest, which will feature small prizes for all entrants. Live music from Market favorite Goodnight Nurse will be featured from 10am-1pm.

We’ve been receiving so many calls from Duneland residents who are excited about Opening Day of the Market,” says Heather Ennis, Executive Director of the Chamber. “Everyone wants to know where to park, so that they can be sure to be within walking distance of the festivities.

Parking is available in numerous locations throughout Chesterton. Lois Lane, which is located on east Indiana Avenue behind the shops on Calumet, has many parking spots available, as does West Indiana Avenue, the Chesterton United Methodist Church on 2nd Street, and the many side streets in the downtown area.
