Frontline Foundations Is Calling All Artists and Vendors for Upcoming Hooked on Art Event

Hooked-on-ArtFrontline Foundations, Inc., a non-profit substance abuse treatment provider for young adults, is looking for artists and vendors to participate in their 2nd annual Hooked on Art -- Live Street Art Festival. The event, an annual fundraiser for Frontline to support client treatment scholarships, will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Thomas Centennial Park in Chesterton, IN.

Participating artists will be asked to perform a “live” work of art from 9am to 5pm in front of an expected festival crowd. Frontline Development Director Derek Frazier sees the event as a great opportunity for professional local artists.

Hooked on Art is an excellent festival for local artists to sell their art work and gain publicity regarding their craft,” said Frazier. “Leading up to the event we plan on marketing our Live Street Artists in numerous promotional pieces and social media to generate excitement for the festival. In addition, the event will provide the Live Street Artist the opportunity to converse with crowds of people about their unique work and craft while it’s in progress.”

Hooked-on-Art-LogoExclusively for participating Live Street Artists, Frontline is offering a free 10x10 vendor booth space. However, Frontline urges potential Live Street Artists to sign up soon since complimentary merchant space is limited. Other highlights for potential Live Street Artists and Vendors include a People’s Choice prize sponsored by art supplier Dick Blick, easy load-in/load-out space, and 24-hour event security.

The event, in conjunction with the Duneland Chamber’s European Market, also aims to fill the downtown Chesterton streets with color by providing free chalk art supplies to Live Street Artists with encouragement to create their own chalk art masterpiece.

Nationally recognized chalk artists Nancy Pochis Bank and Jennifer Chaparro will be attending the festival and creating their own unique works of art,” said Frazier. “By providing free materials we hope to encourage more artists to chalk the streets with striking art.”

To apply, Frontline encourages potential Live Street Artists and/or art and food vendors to follow their website and download a Live Street Artist or Vendor application at www.hookedonartfestival.com or call their office at (219) 728-1638 for more information. A 10x10 vendor space is available for $40.
