September is Library Card Sign-up Month and the Porter County Public Library System wants everyone in the family--mom, dad, and children--to have access to books, movies, computers, CDs and more for the bargain price of FREE!
Observed since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month is a time when the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country remind parents that a library card is the most important school supply of all.
Getting a library card is easy! Simply bring current photo identification and proof of address within Porter County to any branch of the Porter County Public Library System in Hebron, Kouts, Portage, South Haven, and Valparaiso.
PCPLS offers many free and low-cost educational and entertaining programs for all ages. Introduce your child to books and the library by enrolling them in story hours, craft programs or a writing workshop; take advantage of health screenings or join a book discussion group. A complete listing of events is at our website at www.pcpls.lib.in.us.
Don’t delay! The Library has something for everyone. Come on in or look us up on the Web! Reserve books online, sign up for email updates of NEW books at your library or give us your email address to find out about your holds or overdue items. We welcome everyone to follow us on Twitter and Facebook and we look forward to offering eBooks to our patrons in the Fall.
