Franciscan St. Anthony Health Security Officer Receives County Honor

Franciscan-St-Anthony-Health-Security-Officer-Receives-County-HonorKen Havlin, a 16-year, part-time Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City security officer, recently was honored by the LaPorte County Emergency Medical Service as a First Responder of the Year.

Havlin, a longtime sergeant with the city’s Police Department, was nominated by Lt. Tron Gorbonosenko, who said that Havlin, “is always professional and assists in any way he can.” He cited an instance in which Havlin jumped into an ambulance during a city call to assist EMS personnel with an infant who was not breathing and helped perform CPR until they reached the hospital.
