Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point: Renovated Gift Shop Offers ‘More of a Boutique-Type Experience’

st-anthony-gift-shopChaplain William Sayre blesses with holy water the newly renovated Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Crown Point Gift Shop during a rededication program April 9 that took place following a two-week-long construction process that added display windows, updated electrical equipment and provided new paint, carpeting, merchandise and other amenities, including overhead music, to the shop, which hadn’t been changed since it opened in 1999.

The shop, which is is run by the hospital Auxiliary, brings in tens of thousands of dollars in revenue annually that helps fund patient services. Michelle Payne, hospital director of customer service, satisfaction and volunteer services, proposed the project idea to Kevin DeBraal, assistant vice president of administrative services, who was instrumental in securing funding. “These volunteers give up their time, effort and energy and it’s great that they have a place to showcase,” Payne said, adding, the renovations will provide “more of a boutique-type experience.”
