Franciscan Health Outpatient Therapy clinics open in new Homewood location

Public invited to tour new space during March 19 open house

Franciscan Health Outpatient Therapy services are now available in new, state-of-the-art Homewood clinics in Cherry Creek Plaza.

Franciscan Health Outpatient Pediatric Therapy, a department of Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, is now open in its expanded location at 18410 Governors Highway in Homewood. The clinic, powered by Milestone Therapy, provides physical, occupational and speech therapy and includes seven private treatment rooms, a sensory playroom and a spacious gym space for therapy interventions.

The sensory play room was made possible in part by a $10,000 donation from the new Circle of 1875. Named for the year the first Franciscan hospital opened in Lafayette, Indiana, the Circle of 1875 is a women's giving circle dedicated to supporting Franciscan's mission and programs in the community.

The clinic focuses on pediatric therapy for developmental delays, sensory treatment, neurological conditions and orthopedics. The speech therapy program focuses on communication, swallowing, cognition and socialization.

“Our in-clinic therapy services offer a focused, supportive environment where children can work on achieving their developmental goals,” said Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Director of Rehab Services Laurie Shellito, PT, MPH, MBA. “Our therapists provide personalized care tailored to the child’s specific needs, all while using a wide range of specialized equipment and techniques.”

Franciscan Health Outpatient Therapy Homewood, which provides adult outpatient therapy services, is also now partially located at 18460 Governors Highway in Cherry Creek Plaza, with plans to fully move from Franciscan Health Olympia Fields to the new clinic later this year. The adult clinic also specializes in physical, occupational and speech therapies.

Conditions covered and treatments provided in one-on-one therapy sessions include orthopedics, dizziness, concussions, fall prevention, pelvic health, neurological conditions, specialized Parkinson’s Disease treatments and speech services.

Some insurance plans allow for treatment without a physician’s prescription. Interested individuals can call to see if they qualify for the Direct Access Program. More information is available by calling (708) 679-2890.

Joining the Outpatient Therapy Services in the Cherry Creek Plaza at 18408 Governors Highway are Specialty Physicians of Illinois, LLC primary care providers Josephine Minnicino, MD and Imaobong Udonkang, APRN, FNP-C, both of whom provide comprehensive family medical care for patients from infants to seniors. Both SPI providers are currently welcoming new patients.
