Franciscan Health Michigan City hosts blood drive on Nov. 10

In response to a severe blood shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic, Franciscan Health Michigan City will host a blood drive on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The Versiti blood drive will be 10AM to 1:30PM at the Versiti Blood Bus outside the hospital at 3500 Franciscan Way.

The COVID-19 antibody test is performed on every blood donation. The test will inform you if you have antibodies from a prior COVID-19 infection but will not inform you if you currently have COVID-19. Test results will not affect the release of your blood to hospital partners.

Appointments are encouraged and can be scheduled by going online at versiti.org/IL or by calling 1-800-7TO-Give (1-800-786-4483) and choosing your preferred time. Walk-ins are also welcome as the schedule and social distancing allow. Identification is required, and donors must wear a mask.

Versiti Blood Center is the primary blood provider to Franciscan Health. All donations go to more than 70 hospitals in Indiana and Illinois.
