Franciscan Health Crown Point physician Zubair Dave, DO, was recently presented with the St. Raphael Award from the hospital’s nursing staff.
Dr. Dave, an emergency department physician, received the award in recognition of his outstanding dedication, teamwork and respect for the nursing staff at Franciscan Health Crown Point and for his commitment to the mission and values of Franciscan Alliance.
Beth Chafin, RN, nominated Dr. Dave for the award, noting his calm, respectful demeanor for everyone he encounters.
“It has been such a pleasure to work with such a kind, caring physician,” Chafin said in her nomination. “He takes the time to listen to each nurse and values everyone’s opinion … When Dr. Dave is in a room, he acts as a calming presence to the entire team.”
Dr. Dave graduated with honors from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Ill. in 2017. He completed his internship and residency at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields.
The St. Raphael Award is named for the patron saint of healing, who serves those seeking healing of body, mind and spirit as well as those in healthcare professions.
