Two students with plans for healthcare careers are getting a boost in their education from the medical staff at Franciscan Health Crown Point.
The 2021 Franciscan Health Crown Point Medical Staff Healthcare Provider Scholarships were awarded to Hanover Central High School graduate Julia Moloney and Hebron High School graduate Jacob Stewart.
The $1,000 scholarships, which are renewable for a second year, are given to students who are applying for post-high school education in a healthcare related field. Moloney plans to major in nursing at Purdue University in West Lafayette, and Stewart is attending Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis with the goal of eventually becoming a physician.
Moloney and Stewart were chosen from scholarship applications that were reviewed by physicians on the Franciscan Health Crown Point Medical Executive Committee.
