A quartet of Portage High School girls cross country athletes were named to the 2013 All-Duneland Athletic Conference team Tuesday.
Rebecca Timm, Rhyan Sloan, Haley Orshonsky and Kyra Bell provided Portage with the largest number of all-conference athletes any DAC school had on the list. Conference MVP Elena Lancioni, Kailee Schoof and Kristin Cave represented the first place La Porte Slicers on the squad. Kayla McGurk (Crown Point), Michaela Gazdich and Allison Mundell (Valparaiso), and Sarah Hunsley and Megan Zajac (Lake Central) were also named all-conference.
Portage finished the year in second place in the overall team standings, trailing only La Porte and edging Lake Central for the number two spot.
