Finishing Strong! PTSC Weekly Update, May 6th

05-06-14-PTSC-UpdateI can't believe it--but we are in the final month of school. Each year seems to go by at a more rapid pace. Although it is our last month of school, we still have a lot left to accomplish! As you know, ECA and ISTEP+ testing have been going on last week. Thankfully we did not experience the volume of disruptions that we did last year! We continue with testing this week. Even though we are completing those tests, there is still lots of teaching and learning left for the remainder of the month! For those of you who are runners, you are familiar with "hitting the wall" and the challenge of keeping moving when your body is tired.

This is the point in the race where one can gain ground and make great advances by keeping focused on the task at hand and pushing through. Join us in reminding students that we have important learning left to do this year--and to push through giving the best effort right until the very last day! I love crossing the finish line of the race and feeling good about what I have accomplished--something I hope our students will reflect on at the end of the school year. For now, it's important to enjoy the moments that are happening in anticipation of crossing the finish line at the end of the year!

PTSC Standouts:
Congratulations to the Boone Grove High School English Academic Team who have qualified for the state meet which is happening this weekend! The team has been working hard preparing for the competitions reading novels, short stories, and poems based on this years theme of westward expansion. We wish you luck this weekend! We are proud of you!

The following student athletes were recognized by the Porter County Conferences as All-Academic Athletes: Elizabeth Barton, Tyler Bauman, Nicole Malouhos, Michael Meyne, Macy Miller, and Ben Tomasik. To earn this honor these students had to meet GPA requirements and have lettered in a PCC sport this year. Way to go!
