The Currie Motors Ford of Valpo team strives not just to serve its customers, but to also go the extra mile for them. Russell Ghasvarian, one of Currie Motors Ford of Valpo’s Finance Managers, is passionate about his customers and works hard to get them into the vehicles they love.
Ghasvarian has lived in Valparaiso for nearly half his life. He went to Valparaiso University to earn his bachelor’s in Marketing and a minor in Business Analytics and graduated in 2018. He’d always had a love for cars and he became interested in working in sales during school, so he started working as a salesman for Currie Motors Ford of Valpo right out of college.
Ghasvarian worked as a sales consultant for two years with the hopes of one day moving up and becoming a Finance Manager. In April 2021, Ghasvarian’s goal came true when he was promoted to that exact position. He’s been with Currie Motors Ford of Valpo ever since and couldn’t be more content.
“Working at Currie Motors Ford of Valpo has just been amazing. I’ve been able to learn so much about the cars and about what’s coming out next, and every day is a completely different day. I get to interact with so many different people, and I’m surrounded by cars and people who are passionate about cars all the time. I absolutely love it,” said Ghasvarian.
If Ghasvarian could give someone who’s interested in going into finance one piece of advice, it would be to never stop learning. It’s easy to think that your learning stops after school, but that isn’t true. You can always learn more and continue to improve.
“Always be learning. Learn every day, and learn as much as you can about the vehicles or the product because obtaining that knowledge can only help you. If someone asks a question, you’ll be able to help them, and that will help you so much in the long run. It may seem a bit obvious, but learning is really what it comes down to,” said Ghasvarian.
There’s so much that Ghasvarian loves about Currie Motors Ford of Valpo, but what he loves the most are his co-workers. Their drive and passion for what they do is inspiring to Ghasvarian and encourages him to work even harder.
“Being surrounded by my co-workers who love cars and are very passionate not just about the cars but about the business is incredible. Their passion pushes me to want to do everything at the highest level I possibly can. Seeing them give it their all and learning as much as they can is amazing, because when you're surrounded by that kind of drive, it just makes you want to do even better,” said Ghasvarian.
Ghasvarian’s General Manager, Frank Herrera, has been a huge role model to him. He couldn’t imagine being where he is today without Herrera's input and guidance.
“He’s just helped teach me so much. I started out as a sales consultant and then was promoted to finance manager, and he’s been there with me the whole time mentoring me. He’s so passionate about the business, and I really look up to him,” said Ghasvarian.
He’s also thankful to his fellow co-workers Adam Hernandez, Mike Davis, Michael Herma, Mike Ramadan, Chris Logan, Cary Green, and Brendan Rios for always being there and teaching him something new every day.
In his free time, Ghasvarian loves going jet skiing, golfing, watching documentaries, and, of course, driving cars.
