All students at Fegely Middle School enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the Candle Light Inn. This is an honored tradition at Fegely Middle School, and something that all of our students and staff look forward to each year as part of our Fegely Family.
Classes were called down by reservation with their advisory class to the cafeteria to dine with their teachers. Many parent volunteers, staff, and teachers helped serve this delicious family-style feast by candle light. Mrs. Cheryl Girman organized and collaborated with all parents to help make this be a special day for all. The dedicated cafeteria staff cooked us the elaborate Thanksgiving meal. It had all the trimmings: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie.
At each grade level, students were selected as part of our “Hold the Rope” initiative, that Mr. Phil Misecko started four years ago. The meal started with students giving ropes out to teachers who were there for them. Students gave speeches about how the teachers went the extra mile and helped them both academically and personally grow as individuals. This has become another honored tradition for the Fegely Family.
All in all, this was an amazing experience for students, teachers, and parents alike. We are thankful to have such amazing students, caring parents, and dedicated staff at Fegely Middle School. We’d like to wish you a happy Thanksgiving from our Fegely Family to yours.
