Fegely 6th Grade Students Celebrate Reading with Ice Cream Social

Fegely-Ice-Cream-Social-Collage-01-29-15Sixth grade students at Fegely Middle School celebrated reading success with an ice cream social. Teachers Mrs. Jennifer Combs, Mrs. Mindy Malaski, and Mrs. Lisa Norman dished out ice cream to students who met or exceeded their AR goals during the second grading period. Each quarter, all sixth grade PTS students are required to read enough books to earn a minimum of 20 Accelerated Reader (AR) points, and students in the PreAP program are required to earn at least 25 AR points.

Each quarter, each grade level at FMS provides reward incentives for students who are reading in their free time and earning points. At the end of the first grading period, sixth grade students were rewarded with a movie and popcorn treat. Each quarter students are rewarded for their reading success. We value reading and making reading a daily habit for our students. We strive to develop a culture of reading here at Fegely Middle School.
