Family Workshop to Be Held July 16

family-youth-services-bureau-logoThe Family & Youth Services Bureau presents a Family Life Series Workshop, titled “Birth to Three—You and Me”, held on Tuesday, July 16, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, at the FYSB downtown Valparaiso office at 253 W. Lincolnway, Valparaiso.

The workshop is led by Melanie Dooley, Director of Prevention and Early Intervention Services, Family & Youth Services Bureau, and Laura Green, Developmental Therapist and Manager at All About Kids, the Early Intervention Program of Opportunity Enterprises, Inc.

Topics presented and discussed will be: developmental milestones for young children; ideas for encouraging a child’s emerging skills; learning what to do if you have concerns about a child’s development, including helpful contact information and local programming; discovering practical methods for helping children who have delays in their development; receiving ideas about fun educational projects and activities.

Additional Family Life Workshops that are scheduled for this year include: Navigating the Educational System, September 17; and Understanding Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, November 19.
