Family Life Series Workshop: “All You Need to Know about Autism”

family-youth-services-bureau-logoThe Family & Youth Services Bureau strives to strengthen families in Porter County. Through a wonderful grant opportunity, we are having a Family Life Series Workshop which addresses various topics related to families. All workshops are FREE and open to anyone!

Our upcoming workshop entitled “All you need to know about Autism” is being held on April 12th, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at our Valparaiso Office. This workshop will offer information about the definition, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of Autism. There will also be information on the Autism spectrum as well asperger syndrome. The presenters will be Mary Elizabeth Stefanski and Daniel Stefanski. Ms. Stefanski is a former Medical Social Worker with a minor in Child Psychology and has spent most of her life as an advocate for children. Ms. Stefanski earned her Masters of Arts in Communications. She is currently a writer who along with her son, Daniel, wrote a book “How to talk to an Autistic Kid”.
