Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr., the Hammond Parks and Recreation Department, and the Hammond Sportsplex are excited to announce their newest event: The First Responder Games.
The Hammond Sportsplex will host a series of tournaments for local fire and police departments. Towns, cities, universities, volunteer departments, counties, and state are encouraged to send their police and/or fire teams to compete. For each tournament, one side of the bracket will be fire departments pitted against each other, with police vying for top spot on the other side. The fire winner will take on the police winner to determine the champion. Team registration is free.
