Deb is an experienced marketing and communications executive with a proven track record of success and an especially keen insight into local political dynamics and external factors affecting organizational performance and behaviors.
Twenty years ago, Deb began the Public Relations and Fund Development department at Opportunity Enterprises that culminated in a $1.2 million capital campaign for a new facility, beginning a new era of community awareness and involvement in the work of the agency. For the next 15 years she worked in community and economic development with two chambers of commerce in Indiana. In 2006/2007 she guided Porter Hospital through the media and public scrutiny though a process to sell the hospital and redirected the focus back to Porters' mission of delivering quality healthcare to the people of northwest Indiana.
Deb is known as a community leader and consensus builder with exceptional verbal and written communications skills. She has considerable experience developing and managing media relationships, internal/membership publications and writing and producing a number of external communications pieces such as press releases, newsletters, speeches, and community presentations.
