More than 500 attendees were on hand for the 15th annual Franciscan Health-sponsored Senior Citizens Day at the Lake County Fair Aug. 7. The program, in the Senior-Showcase Tent, offered information regarding the Accountable Care Organization, Franciscan Senior Promise, Franciscan Senior Health and Wellness, Franciscan Insurance Services, outpatient services, stroke awareness and palliative care.
Health screenings and information was available for balance assessment, blood glucose, blood pressure, body fat analysis, early heart attack care, lung and breast health, nutrition and skin cancer. Other attractions included free refreshments and Radio Memories music, featuring The Dentons; an apple-peeling contest; and a King and Queen contest. There also were giveaways and chance to receive a coupon for a free foot screening.
