Competition fierce at 2019 Cavanaugh & Nondorf Orthodontics pumpkin decorating contest

The competition is fierce at this year’s pumpkin decorating content among Valparaiso area dental health providers. The annual event hosted by Cavanaugh & Nondorf Orthodontics in Valparaiso challenges their peers and referring dental practices to create the most beloved pumpkin as determined by patients and visitors to the office.

So far it’s too soon to tell who might win, but there is plenty of time left to vote before Halloween! Patients and visitors can see the artistic creations – some of them quite elaborate – and cast their ballots at the Cavanaugh & Nondorf Orthodontics office, located at 800 Wall St., Suite 1, Valparaiso.

“I can’t believe how creative some of these displays are,” said Dr. Robert Cavanaugh. “It’s really great for our patients, too. It adds a lot to their office visit and gives us a chance to have some fun.”

Cavanaugh said they started the friendly competition several years ago, and it has now blossomed to about 14 competing dental health providers this year. According to their Facebook page, others are pining to participate next year as well.

“Its’ fun to see how competitive they get,” he said.

In no particular order, here’s the breakdown of this year’s contenders:
