Community Healthcare System develops resource group for men with prostate cancer

Community Healthcare System has created a resource group to meet the needs of men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their loved ones. The goal is to provide a comfortable and safe learning environment for patients where they can be empowered about their condition and connect with others going through similar circumstances.

The monthly meetings will include an educational presentation, question-and-answer session and confidential discussion. A pelvic health physical therapist will moderate, and other health practitioners may join to educate and answer questions.

The group will gather from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month in Community Room A at Community Stroke & Rehabilitation Center, 10215 Broadway, Crown Point. Space is limited, so registration is required. Prostate cancer patients, family and caregivers are welcome, but priority is given to cancer patients who would like to participate. Group meetings addressing topics of a personal nature will be limited to cancer patients. Attendees must adhere to hospital policy regarding masking and social distancing.

Call 219-661-6133 to register.
