City of Hobart kicks off summer with weekend long Lakefront Fest

The City of Hobart’s annual Lakefront Festival kicked off the 2025 summer event season in Festival Park on Thursday, June 5. The festival, which features four days of fun in the sun, gives Hobart Parks and Events an opportunity to get the city excited for the upcoming activities happening in Hobart through August.

This year’s Lakefront Festival opened with live music from theHead Honchos andTogether Band as attendees explored a transformed Festival Park. From the Kids Zone featuring bounce castles and lawn games to the Beer Garden stocked by Indiana Beverage, there were plenty of opportunities to enjoy spending time with friends, family, and neighbors.

In addition to the activities offered, the Lakefront Festival also hosted a variety of local food and crafts vendors, includingMy Psychic Gallery,Redmaster Fusion,Polly Ann Cakes,Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee, and more.

This event is only possible thanks to the commitment of the City, the Parks Department, and all of the vendors and volunteers who give their time to the festival. It’s a group effort to create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for everyone to attend.

“The Lakefront Festival is a great way to bring the community together,” Tyaisha Lowe, co-owner ofTye’s Bounce Parties, said. “Hobart is our hometown; we’re looking forward to bringing a FUNtastic time all weekend long. This is the perfect kickoff for summer!”

Those who weren’t able to make it to opening night still have plenty to look forward to at the year’s Lakefront Festival. On Friday, activities will open for the evening at 5 p.m., with Hendrix Effect and Nate Venturelli providing live entertainment at 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday’s fun starts earlier at noon and, alongside more live entertainment, will bring a petting zoo and horseback riding to the party.

Sunday will also see the return of the Dam Duck Race and the Dam Duck Tape & Cardboard Regatta at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. Will this year see another round of all seaworthy boats like last year? Will the Otters defend their championship? Who will be the most creative boat of the year? Stay tuned this Sunday for all the details on theGreatNews.Life feed!
