Christmas Celebration in Portage

toys-for-totsA celebration of Christmas begins in Portage on Saturday, December 3rd at Woodland Park. This event will benefit the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. Children will be able to enjoy FREE activities and inflatable, and FREE pictures with Santa. The only cost for the event is a new unwrapped toy or a cash donation that will benefit area children with toys for the holiday.

Thanks to local businesses purchasing placemat ads, the Kiwanis Club of Portage will be offering a FREE chili lunch during the event, including chili, beverage & dessert. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit area children & programs, including the dictionary project. The club has given every 3rd grade PTS student their own personalized dictionary for the past 5 years. This year they donated almost 600 dictionaries.

The Portage Kiwanis Club will also be offering “Letters From Santa.” Parents can fill out an order form with specific questions about your child. A highly personalized letter will then be mailed to your home addressed to the child from Santa. Letters will cost $5.

Kiwanis_logoThis is a fantastic way to start the Christmas season with Santa, let the kids burn some energy indoors and enjoy the spirit of giving. Doors open at 10:30 am. The event begins at 11 am and will wrap up at 3 pm.
