I also have a very important and timely message asking for your support.
As of late Sunday, 39 people remain unaccounted for following one of the worst tornadoes to hit the United States in decades. Over 130 are dead and hundreds were injured and today, they need our help. I have been contacted by Christy Berry of Merry Meals in Chesterton and she has asked that I pass along her message. They are a non for profit organization and they are in the process of gathering supplies that will be provided to those who are in need in Joplin, Missouri. Someone has donated a semi-trailer to help get the items in the hands of those who need them, would you like to help?
Christy has listed the items that they are looking for and I am offering my office as a central repository for you to bring your donations to. Let’s put Northwest Indiana on the map and do what we can for those who right now, cannot do for themselves. Christy’s organization will collect the items from the Portage Police Department this Friday (June 3rd), so we need to get moving on this. I thank all of you in advance for your support!
