On Monday, November 11, 2013, Central Elementary students honored our veterans with a program. The veterans entered our gym under a canopy of American flags held by our third graders.
Mrs. Nagel, our music teacher, led our students in several songs honoring the men and women who have served our country, and each honored guest then introduced themselves along with their rank and branch of service.
We were also privileged to have a live video feed to Afghanistan where an uncle of one of our students is presently deployed.
The program ended in silence as “Taps” was played by Mr. Dickinson, one of our fourth- grade teachers.
