Centier Bank makes record donation to United Way as part of annual campaign

Centier Bank recently presented a $60,113 gift to nine United Way agencies across Indiana as part of its annual United Way Workplace Campaign. Centier Bank’s associate contributions and a corporate gift made this year’s total the highest on record. Over 600,000 individuals throughout the state will benefit from the funds, helping serve more than 100 local United Way programs.

For more than 50 years, Indiana United Way Agencies have been working to improve lives across the globe through health, education, and financial stability programs. For the past several years, Centier Bank has partnered with United Way chapters across the state, resulting in the advancement of initiatives designed to impact thousands of families and individuals in need.

The donation supports the United Way organizations in the 11 counties in which Centier serves, including Lake, Porter, La Porte, St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Allen, Tippecanoe, Boone, Marion, and Hamilton counties.

Kasie Tenbarge, Senior Director of Development for United Way of Northwest Indiana, said the organization is extremely grateful for the Centier Bank partnership, which continues to grow every year.

“It takes great partners like Centier Bank for our community to thrive,” Tenbarge said. “We could not do what we do without their support. Together we’re helping Northwest Indiana residents find the resources they need to have better lives.”

In a single year, over 22 percent of Northwest Indiana households are helped through United Way, Tenbarge said. In 2021, United Way provided more than $5 million in resources to help residents thrive.

Anthony Contrucci, Senior Vice President of Community Relations, said the bank’s associates enthusiastically participate in the annual United Way Workplace Campaign, and look forward to it each year.

“Our associates take great joy in making donations to United Way, because we know that the dollars will be spent to enrich lives across the state,” Contrucci said. “Being an engaged corporate citizen is just one way Centier shows its commitment to our communities.”
