Centier Bank Donates $7,500 to Tradewinds Services

Centier Bank recently donated $7,500 to TradeWinds Services as part of an annual corporate sponsorship commitment. TradeWinds is a Merrillville-based agency serving individuals with disabilities across all age groups. The organization provides family support, skills training, and various learning opportunities aimed at enhancing self-sufficiency and overall wellbeing.

Members of Centier Bank’s Celebrating Abilities Network Associate Resource Group, which advocates for individuals with disabilities supporting Centier’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, recently enjoyed a tour of the Tradewinds facility in Merrillville. The group visited the training and production operations and as well as with the organization’s leaders. Troy Rose, Wealth Strategist at Centier Bank, also serves on the board of Tradewinds, and is delighted to serve as a liaison between the two organizations.

“Centier Bank proudly supports TradeWinds as an organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact to its members, and we are honored to stand alongside them in fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and opportunity for all,” Rose explained.

In 2023, TradeWinds positively impacted 2,895 individuals through various programs and services. These included childcare for infants to kindergarten, summer camps for children of all abilities, and job readiness programs for youth aged 16 to 24. Additionally, TradeWinds provided vocational training, employment services, residential support, and monthly food pantry access for Lake and Porter County residents facing food insecurity.

The funds raised from Centier's donation will contribute to providing specialized care and support services for children, youth, and adults with developmental and physical disabilities in the local community.

“Centier Bank has supported TradeWinds Services for many years with event and fundraising participation, volunteers, and stepped up for the third year as a Partner level Annual Corporate Sponsor,” said Terry Weaver, Sales & Marketing Manager at TradeWinds. “This partnership has provided support for these community services and for our program participants of diverse abilities. This year, Centier Bank is sponsoring our ‘Consumer of the Year’ gift program award at our annual Gala. This award goes to an adult program participant who has made great strides over the past year.”
