CCSJ’s Davis Takes Home POTW Honors Twice in Three Week Span

Davis-Takes-Home-POTW-Honors-Twice-in-Three-Week-Span That Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference league office announced Wednesday morning that Calumet College of St. Joseph's men's track and field student-athlete Robert Davis (JR/Baton Rouge, La.) picked up his second CCAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor for the week ending on January 27, 2019.

Davis captured the long jump event over 19 other competitors at the St. Ambrose University Invitational on Saturday with his leap of 22 feet, 10.5 inches. That effort also qualified him for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships for the second year in a row. This great weekend didn't stop there however. Davis went on to place second in the 14-person triple jump field with a distance of 45-0.25.

The most recent award comes just two weeks after receiving the honor for the first time in his Crimson Wave athletic career. In the four events that he has participated in during the indoor season, Davis has come in first and second in the long jump, while he has taken second place twice in the triple jump.

Now that he has punched his ticket with the long jump, his attention will now focus on qualifying for the triple jump at the NAIA Indoor National Championships, which will take place February 28th thru March 2nd in Brookings, S.D. Those preparations will continue this weekend at the UW-Parkside Classic on Saturday afternoon.
