People who have chosen hospice services for their loved ones often know that hospice organizations provide bereavement services to families and caregivers of their patients after the death of the patient. Going even further, Center for Hospice Care offers grief counseling to anyone in our community who has lost a loved one.
Grief is a natural response to experiencing the death of someone we hold dear. Because of the generosity of our supporters, Center for Hospice Care’s bereavement services are available at no charge to those in our community. Our licensed counselors and trained volunteers who provide services help people cope with the many grief reactions they may experience. We offer individual, family and group counseling for children, teens and adults as well as additional grief programs like our After Images art counseling program.
From 2019-2023, free services offered by Center for Hospice Care, including community bereavement services, have totaled over $9.8 million.
As a donor to our annual Friends of Hospice appeal, you will help Center for Hospice Care provide much-needed bereavement services to those who have lost a loved one. Our Joel and Elizabeth Welch Life Transition Center is one of the few organizations in our area that provides these services at no charge – even individual and family counseling. This is possible because of the generosity of donors like you.
