The Porter County Career and Technical Center will welcome parents this Thursday, Sept. 22 from 6 to 7 p.m.
This annual open house will give parents a chance to meet teachers in the programs offered at the career center, 1005 N. Franklin St., Valparaiso.
The programs are Auto Technology, Business Ownership Lab/Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Construction Technology, Electronics and Computer Technology, Health Careers, Health Occupations, Marketing Internship, Modern Machining Technology and Video Production and Media Studies.
Students in these classes come from nine high schools in Porter County, plus Hobart High School. They spent ½ the school day in a program, and many have the chance to earn dual college credits.
