After days of rain, the sunshine and blue skies on July 11th were welcomed sights as 144 golfers stepped up to tee off at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s 33rd Annual Golf Outing. Held at Forest Park Golf Course in Valparaiso, IN, the sold-out Golf Outing was the organization’s most successful one to date, raising nearly $35,000.
“Thanks to the generosity and support from so many wonderful volunteers, sponsors, businesses, participants and staff, we experienced another great tournament with the highest net income we’ve ever had,” said interim President Ryan Smiley. “This annual event continues to keep growing stronger while maintaining its many traditions spanning 33 years in Porter County!”

The funds raised will be used to provide youth development programs and activities year-round for over 4,800 in grades K-12 at Clubs located in Portage, Duneland (Chesterton), Valparaiso, and South Haven as well as nine KidStop sites. Whether it is taking part in the free tutoring and homework assistance programs, learning to use high tech hardware and software in Club Tech, or interacting with caring and supportive staff, at the Clubs, children can connect to opportunities which can change their lives.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County offers affordable $35.00 annual memberships ($20.00 at the Duneland Unit). Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
