Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Duneland Unit Members Petition State for Smoke-Free Air

Duneland-VOICE-IndyMembers of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County-Duneland Unit’s VOICE group spent a day Indianapolis recently to petition lawmakers on smoke-free policy. The Club members visited the Indiana State Capitol Building with other youth from across the state who participates in VOICE. Duneland Club member Julia Gonzalez delivered a speech at the State Capitol Building, urged lawmakers to strengthen the smoke-free laws in Indiana and to increase funding to tobacco prevention programs.

VOICE is a youth led anti-tobacco movement in Indiana which strives to educate and prevent young Hoosiers from becoming smokers.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County has been opening doors to GREAT FUTURES for Porter County’s youth since 1971.
