Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana are incredibly appreciative of Michael Simpson and his company, M.E. Simpson Co., Inc, for the extensive involvement and support over the years.
Simpson has been working with the Clubs since 2003. He shared how he had family members going to the Clubs, which allowed him to see the many benefits it has on the community.
“I started to get involved because my niece and nephews used the facilities and we thought it was a worthwhile organization and a real benefit for the youth of the community,” Simpson said.
Simpson eagerly supports the mission of the Clubs and sees it as a great company helping to change kids’ lives for the better.
“I enjoy just engaging with an organization whose mission I believe in and supports youth here in Northwest Indiana,” Simpson said. “I think it's a real value and a real benefit to our youth and for growing great futures for great kids.”
Simpson has held various positions within the Clubs over the years, including chairing golf outings and other events, holding different offices, and chairing Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County. Now, he serves as the chair of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana.
One of Simpson’s favorite memories with the Clubs happened just recently during the pandemic, where a bit of creativity was needed to give a yearly tradition a new twist.
“The different Clubs created little mini golf courses in their gyms because we couldn't hold a golf outing during the pandemic,” Simpson said. “A couple of them created virtual golf courses that you can play on your computer. I participated in that and thought that was fantastic and truly inventive. The kids that participated in those endeavors were really excited.”
The staff at the Clubs are beyond grateful for Simpson’s contributions to the organization as well.
“Both Mr. Simpson and M.E. Simpson Co., Inc. have been incredible partners and advocates for Boys & Girls Clubs for several years. He has a passion for the work we do in all communities across Northwest Indiana, and he is dedicated to helping us fulfill our mission. Whether it’s serving on our Board of Directors Executive Committee, chairing the Boys & Girls Clubs Indiana Area Council or financially supporting our Clubs through contributions and solicitation of other donors, we are extremely grateful for his leadership, partnership and support.”
Stephanie Letic, Director of Marketing for the Clubs, shared about how she appreciates all that the entire Simpson Family has done for the organization over the years.
“He’s been with the organization for a very long time and he’s been instrumental with the merger process,” Letic said. “Mr. Simpson and his family are always there for us; anything we need, they are there. They helped out with getting us land for our South Haven Club, and they always help with Christmas to Remember. It means a lot to have somebody who we know we can count on.”
Letic said she also appreciates how much Simpson goes above and beyond for the Clubs no matter the situation.
“Mr. Simpson and his company have been long-time advocates for the Clubs. Whether it be financially or just going out and talking about the Clubs, him and his entire family have always been there for our organization,” Letic said.
Dylan McKee, Director of External Affairs, said he can tell by Simpson’s actions just how much he cares about the Clubs.
“I think his heart is very much into the Boys & Girls Clubs and you can see that, and it resonates throughout the organization,” said McKee.
