Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana Breaks Ground on South Haven Club Renovations

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana celebrated on November 16 with a ceremonial groundbreaking for the renovation of the South Haven Club.

The renovation will consist of a $5.5 million project to enhance and expand the current Club located in the South Haven community. The campaign has kicked off with several generous donations including gifts from the John Will Anderson Foundation, Porter County American Rescue Plan Act, Jacki Stutzman and NiSource.

“We are excited to enhance our facility and build it to what our kids deserve. Our goal is to the be the hub for all South Haven youth, where they can have a safe place to grow and most importantly have fun,” Mike Jessen, President & CEO.

The new Club will feature a dedicated teen space, STEM lab, education rooms, art room, sensory room and several games rooms. The facility will also feature a common area to allow space for our members to meet in groups for things like service projects, career sessions and more.

“The benefits this new Club will have to the South Haven community are endless. By being walking distance for many kids, the Club will be a resource for after school activities as well as a place parents know their child is safe,” Brendan Clancy, Portage Township Trustee and Campaign Committee Chair.
