Blackmon Shows Compassion, Selflessness

Justice-BlackmonCentral Elementary's five steps to success are to be responsible, respectful, honest, compassionate and fair.

Justice Blackmon exemplifies all of these qualities.

Justice is a third-grade student who loves school. Her favorite subjects are math and reading. She enjoys playing outside, riding her bike and playing freeze tag. She loves to collect erasers, her favorite being an eraser phone she purchased at the school book fair. Justice said she looks up to her friend Paige because they have known each other for a long time and they are best friends. She wants to be an artist or a police officer when she grows up.

Justice's mother, Denise, said Justice is always helpful around the house, kindhearted, loves to cook and help with chores, and is a great big sister. Justice has several outstanding qualities including empathy, selflessness and compassion.

"Justice is kind and compassionate; she works well with others; she always does her personal best; and she leads by example," said Nicole Slack, home-school adviser at Central Elementary School in Portage. "She is a joy to all of us at Central."

This is a weekly spotlight called the Kiwanis Student Spotlight. The Kiwanis club and the Portage Parent Network recognize students at Portage schools.
