Bill Higbie Joins Porter County Community Foundation Staff

higbieBill Higbie has joined the Porter County Community Foundation as Vice President of Development. He will play a critical role in the implementation of the Foundation’s Strategic Plan. Higbie is a former member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors where he also served on its Resource Development Committee.

“We are thrilled to have Bill join our team,” said Barb Young, President of the Porter County Community. Foundation. “Bill’s genuine compassion and commitment to our community will serve Porter County well.” Prior to his move to the Foundation, he served for 23 years as funeral director for Moeller Funeral Home.

In his new position, Higbie will work will individuals, families and corporations to further engage them in the mission and vision of the Foundation. “The Foundation is at a pivotal point in its growth,” said Young. “Adding this position will allow us to strategically move forward as we enhance our ability to do more to strengthen Porter County today and for generations to come.”

Higbie, a lifelong Porter County resident, lives in Kouts with his wife Karen and their two children, Grace and Matt. “Joining the Foundation will allow me to do more in service to our community,” said Higbie, “The Foundation brings together a whole combination of people who want the best for Porter County. It’s thrilling to be one of them.”
