Big Hearts Lead to a Big Check from Portage Town & Country Market

aylesworth-Town-and-Country-Presentation-2Kevin Richardson from Portage Town and Country Market visited Aylesworth Elementary's morning staff meeting to surprise us with a big check! Town and Country and its affiliated stores have adopted three Portage schools and many other schools in Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland areas. Their support this year totals over $60,000! That's a lot of bread! In addition, they have offered 20% discounts to each school's teachers to help purchase any school supplies needed for their classrooms.

Each school can chose how to spend the support based upon their needs. Our site-based team will be meeting soon to discuss where we will use the generous donation of $500. One possibility for part of the funds is to use it for our students' community service activities as a "pay it forward" back to the community.

Portage Town and Country Market has not stopped at the schools with their commitment to the community. Did you know about the Senior Discount? On the first Wednesday of every month, Town and Country patrons who are age 55 and over can receive a 10% discount on their grocery purchases on top of their normal sales prices. Now that's real savings!

Thank you Town and Country for your commitment to Portage and our schools!
