County Line Orchard hosted their now-annual “Coming Together” event, in order to support local Porter and Lake county charities. This year, they chose the Hobart YMCA and Valparaiso Housing Opportunities as part of their ongoing support of their local community.
“We’re trying to partner with two charities that interact with Porter and Lake counties,” said co-owner Ryan Richardson, “Last year we did the first event to open the new barn for events, so this is our second year, and we’d like to make it an annual event.”
Both the Crawpuppies and the Chris and Lou Band covered multiple Beatles songs as an entertainment choice for all who came to support the event and give back to the community in this exciting, original event.
“It’s really a great response by the community, since we have both Porter and Lake country with the Hobart YMCA and Housing Opportunities.”
The turnout last year boasted over six hundred attendees with a staggering $15,000 raised for Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. This year was no different, with over six hundred more attendees, “We’re really hoping to top that this year. We have four fantastic guitars we’re raffling off, so that obviously helps raise a lot of money.”
They raffled off a drum set last year, however, they found difficulty fitting it into the recipient’s car, so they switch to all guitars this year, with a Beatles theme of guitar styles.
