Donations are accepted but not required for screening. Eligibility for donation to be determined prior to screening. If you are a match, you will be notified by Be The Match Registry. Information below applies if you are a match.

A Few Basic Facts

A marrow transplant can be a life-saving treatment for people with leukemia, lymphoma and many other diseases. Treatment for these patients begins with chemotherapy and/or radiation to destroy their diseased marrow. Then healthy marrow from a donor is put directly into the patient's bloodstream where it can begin to grow and function normally.

A patient's body will only accept marrow that closely matches the patient. Doctors search the Be The Match Registry to find a suitable donor. The more people like you who commit to becoming a donor, the greater the likelihood that a doctor will find a match for a severely ill patient who needs a marrow transplant.
