After four years of being in the Army, McCarty said he left the military with having no sales experience at all. “Some people go to college, others take up a trade. For me, this was my education. I started selling cellular phones and after doing that for a while, I came across an ad for a car sales position. I went and talked to the owner and the rest is history.” He honed his craft at other dealerships over the years before landing at Thomas Kia of Highland.

There’s been some good and not so good days, but the good days outweigh my bad ones for sure.”

McCarty is not the only one who has a gift of developing everlasting relationships with people. His wife and three of four sons also are involved with car sales. “It runs in the family. My wife told me how she felt that she could do what I’m doing and now she’s doing it too! We are actually in business together. I am blessed to have the kind of family that loves to help others and loves to see people happy. That is our foundation.”
