A Positive Approach to Teen Health’s Jason Kegebein awarded 2021 Humanitarian Service Award of the Year

We would like to celebrate our very own, Jason Kegebein, who was awarded the 2021 Humanitarian Service Award of the Year for Porter County.

The Humanitarian Award is given each year to a person who has distinguished him/herself with an astonishing level of unremitting selfless giving to their community in the service of others.

Tonight’s 2021 Humanitarian Award goes to Pastor Jason Kegebein. Following his retirement after 13 years of service to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana.  Jason continues to serve his community through his church, New Hope Church of God, where he serves as the Lead Pastor, the South Haven Lions Club, where he serves as president and now through, A Positive Approach to Teen Health (PATH, Inc.), were he serves as a Health Educator. PATH is a 501©3 nonprofit organization that educates, equips, and empowers youth to make health decisions.

His services have gone far beyond just his calling and his leadership's achievements are too many to list. His passion to serve, remaining consistent throughout the COVID19 pandemic has been relentless. It has led him to provide food baskets, water, resources, and shelter to the homeless in his church during the winter months. Jason helped raise money through various fundraisers to help provide resources to those in need.

You can always find him serving young and old, not only through his church but through his dedication and commitment to the Lions Club. Not only does he serve as president, but he also serves as a Zone Chair, overseeing other Clubs in the district. Jason for the last 8 years has served and worked alongside the Portage Townships Parks Department’s annual Harvest Fest which focuses on serving Portage Township residents.

In 2018, Jason received the Community Impact Award for Porter County through the Portage Chamber. He continues to be recognized for his selfless giving to his community and his leadership.  Jason has become the embodiment of the Greater Portage Chamber of Commerce 2021 Humanitarian Award.
