The evening began with the posting of the colors by Portage High School's JROTC and the singing of the national anthem by NHS Senior Marisol Barajas. After a few remarks from PHS Principal Jennifer Sass, the advisor of National Honor Society, Cathy Nye, introduced this year's officers and presented them with a special pin symbolizing each of their offices. Serving as officers are President Kaitlin Doud, Vice President Zane Colon, Secretary Alicia Wood, Treasurer Megan Nadolski, Historian Erin Lopez, and Parliamentarian Marko Mavrovic.

Following the induction of the officers, the returning members of National Honor Society introduced and pinned the new inductees. The returning members each chose which inductees they introduced and their friendships with the new members provided a personal touch to the ceremony. The evening concluded with a reception in the PHS Commons.
